Fans of re:form, rejoice! Coming this August, we’re rolling out a brand new resource from the creative teams that brought you re:form and re:form Traditions. . . re:form Ancestors! This youth Bible study explores the ancestors of our faith by exposing the real, unpolished and unexpected personalities of Old Testament Bible characters.
From Adam and Eve (the lovable screw-ups) to Daniel (the invincible visionary), this fifteen course Bible study is bound to spur great conversation. Our hope is that youth will discover similarities between themselves and the many unlikely people selected by God to do extraordinary things. I thought that the video was pretty good. It was very slow and quite different from the original re:form curriculum. Where was the humor that was so commonplace? I know it might have been difficult to find ways of making it “kind of” the same as the re:form videos, but it would have been nice to see a little more effort there since it was such a successful curriculum. Also, content-wise, what about Passover? Where was that? Also, Moses wasn’t punished for hitting the rock, but for disobeying God’s order to speak to the rock (which he hit with his stick instead)! I would like to see another sample besides this one to see if it would be worth purchasing for my youth group or not. Thank you for the great work that you do and for the awesome re:form and re:form Traditions curricula that you have put out so far.
